I posted an in memory comment for Jerry Gordon today. I tried to add a picture but it doesn’t show so i am posting it here. It’s my last in person contact with Jerry- a few shared words/ memories and some laughs. Never forgotten old friend. Very missed but well remembered.
I am truly saddened to learn of Jerry's passing. Though we weren't close, we established a friendship via facebook in recent years. I enjoyed our Fb exchanges and enjoyed his stories of travels and his wisdom. We exchanged a few words and a couple of laughs at a reunion gathering on a warm summer evening at a Eugene brew pub. I will treasure that memory and the memory of the famous Jerry Gordon smile.
Another classmate gone and missed but well remembered.

I encountered an elderly man in the parking lot at the Eugene Costco recently and I helped him put his things in his car. We got to talking and he told me he was in his 90's ( and yes, he was alone and driving). I think he said he was 96. Anyway he told me he was a teacher at Sheldon back when it first opened. I wish I could remember his last name. I know it was just 5 or 6 letters long and I believe it had a u and a double "o" in it. It was a somewhat unusual name and he spelled it for me but quite frankly my hearing is not good and he was soft spoken. I asked him what subject he taught and he said all subjects. He told me he has been married over 70 years and his wife is still alive. Anyway I thought I would pass it along since some of you might know who I am talking about and want to know he is still around. He was a truly lovely man and I enjoyed our conversation. He was a little on the frail side, was using a walker but still sharp as a tack and I was amazed that he was driving his hybrid car and was alone. Hope this means something to someone out there. Enjoy the reunion. I will be thinking of you.
